Indian Tourist In Kazakhstan Faces Aggressive Taxi Driver Over Fare Dispute

Indian travel content creator Komal Maheswari recently shared a distressing experience from her visit to Kazakhstan. She was scammed by a local taxi driver who initially quoted 1,000 Tenge (about Rs. 170) for a ride but later demanded 77,000 Tenge (approximately Rs. 13,000).

Indian travel content creator Komal Maheswari recently shared a distressing experience from her visit to Kazakhstan. She was scammed by a local taxi driver who initially quoted 1,000 Tenge (about Rs. 170) for a ride but later demanded 77,000 Tenge (approximately Rs. 13,000).

In her video, Maheswari recounts arriving at Kazakhstan airport late at night with no local SIM card to book a cab online. She was approached by a taxi driver who, despite some red flags like another person in the car and a child lock, seemed trustworthy.

In the part 2 of the video, Maheswari explained that upon reaching her destination, the driver aggressively demanded 77,000 Tenge. After negotiating, Maheswari and her companions managed to settle the fare at 30,000 Tenge (approximately Rs. 5,200).
