A video shared by Effin on social media captures the moment he met the billionaire and received the gift. The clip shows Effin walking into the Lulu Group’s headquarters and entering a conference room where he meets Yusuff Ali. After a warm greeting, the chairman presents him with the Rado watch, pointing out that it has a “Y” for his name inscribed on it. The watch, according to the Rado website, can cost up to Rs. 2 lakh.
Effin M had previously surprised Yusuff Ali in July 2024 with a unique gift: a watch featuring a photograph of the billionaire’s mother. During their meeting, Effin explained, “I saw a video of you speaking about your mother and how much you love her.” To this, Yusuff Ali responded, “Everyone loves their mothers, it’s not just me. Who in the world does not love their mother?” Effin then revealed the surprise watch, telling Yusuff Ali, “This is for someone who loves their mother very much. It has an engraving of your mother; it’s a waterproof watch.”
Yusuff Ali is the chairman and managing director of the Lulu Group, which operates 256 hypermarkets and malls across the Gulf and India. According to Forbes, his net worth exceeds $8.9 billion. Tragically, Yusuff Ali lost both of his parents in a car accident in 2001 while they were traveling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, as reported by Gulf News.
