Massive Fire Rages At Gwalior’s Plastic Factory For 5 Hours: 49 Fire Engines Rush For Rescue | WATCH

A massive fire broke out at the Mahakal Plastic Factory located in Vikky Factory area of Gwalior late Sunday night. Panic prevailed in that entire area and it is reported that due to fierce fire, which spread throughout in no time, that the efforts by 49 fire engines along with five foam sprinkler trucks for nearly five hours were sufficient to bring it under control. So, no causalities reported. The causes of that fire are yet to be investigated.

The Fire and Its Rapid Spread

The fire started at around 11 pm when a security guard of the factory saw flames coming out of the building. He immediately informed the police and the fire brigade. By the time emergency teams arrived at the site, flames had already spread extensively within the factory. The presence of chemicals along with cardboard and plastic materials contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, making firefighting even more challenging.

Exhaustive Efforts to Douse the Flames

Firefighters laboured day and night to try and subdue the fire. The fire was only brought under control at 3:30 am on Monday morning.According to Atival Yadav, the Fire Brigade Officer at the site, the operation was challenging but was eventually contained after several hours of laborious work.

Probe Launched

The fire occurred at Pappu Gupta‘s factory. He, along with other local factory owners, arrived at the location immediately after hearing about the incident. The authorities have now launched an investigation to find out the cause of the fire and the amount of damage it has caused to the factory and the goods stored in it. The loss is yet to be estimated, but the prompt response of the emergency teams has ensured no human life has been lost in the tragedy.
