Three individuals lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries in a fire incident caused by a gas cylinder leakage at an under-construction building in the Defence Colony of Thana Tila Mod area in Ghaziabad district, as per police reports on Sunday.
Siddharth Gautam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shalimar Garden, stated, “We received information from locals regarding a fire outbreak at an under-construction house in the Defence Colony of Thana Tila Mod area.”
“Upon receiving the information, the fire service was alerted, and police reached the scene to extinguish the fire, rescue the injured, and transport them to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, three individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while the remaining four are undergoing treatment,” he added.
The investigation revealed that the fire erupted due to a gas cylinder leak while individuals were cooking in the room of the under-construction house.
“We are investigating all aspects that led to the accident, and appropriate legal actions are being pursued,” the official mentioned.
