A fire has gripped Morni Forests, located in the Morni Hills in the Panchkula district of Haryana. The fire was so severe that it reached the deepest part of the jungle forcing the wildlife to flee from their habitat.
Morni Forest is home to several animal and bird species, including the Barasingha, panthers, leopards, red jungles fawk and peacocks.

According to information available, authorities were informed about the fires around 6 PM. Two vehicles, one from Sector-5 and another from Kalka have been sent to the location.
“The forest fire occurred 35-40 kilometres from Panchkula city. Our officers are still at the location. Since it is a hilly area, hence reaching to the location is tricky itself. We are trying to contain the damage as much as possible, however the situation seems dire,” said an official in the fire department.
On Saturday, forest fires tore through 80 acres of the Aravali range on Saturday. The protected forests of Mangar and Badkhal were engulfed in the flames .
