India and the Philippines commemorated 75 years of diplomatic ties with the unveiling of a special logo by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Philippine Ambassador Josel Ignacio. The logo reflects the deep-rooted friendship and shared values between the two nations.

A Symbol of Enduring Friendship

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the logo on X, emphasizing its symbolic representation of the harmonious blend of Filipino and Indian cultures.
“The logo embodies our enduring friendship, cultural exchange, and shared values, which have strengthened over 75 years of diplomatic ties,” Jaiswal wrote.

Strong Foundations: Shared Values and Growing Trade

In his address, Jaishankar highlighted the strong democratic and pluralistic foundations of India-Philippines relations.
“Our ties are rooted in democratic values and economic commonalities. Trade has been growing steadily across key sectors such as IT, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, and FMCG,” he noted.

Expanding Defence and Indo-Pacific Collaboration

Jaishankar emphasized the growing defence and security collaboration, driven by shared interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
“Our convergences in the Indo-Pacific have bolstered our partnership, paving the way for stronger ties,” he said.

A Friendship Poised for Greater Heights

The event concluded with optimism about the future of India-Philippines relations.
“India-Philippines friendship is truly enduring and now set to soar to a higher orbit,” Jaishankar remarked.

A Historic Milestone

India and the Philippines formally established diplomatic relations on November 26, 1949, shortly after gaining independence. This milestone marks decades of partnership, with both nations committed to upholding international law and fostering mutual growth.
