A man in Kanpur strangled his wife to death after an argument over some domestic issues. Reportedly, the accused stuffed the body of the deceased into a bag and dropped it inside the warehouse of the liquor store.
The incident was discovered when the woman’s family attempted to call her but received no answer.
The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar. He is a resident of Panki Gangaganj Part 4 and works as a salesperson at an English-contracted liquor store situated in Panki Industrial Area Number 3, according to a report.
According to the authorities, the incident took place on September 7, when Pawan’s wife, Shiva, arrived to meet him at his shop. There, after a fight between the husband and wife, Shiva was strangled by Pawan in a fit of wrath. He dumped her body before leaving the area.
Shiva’s family members were unable to reach her when they called her on the phone. As a result, they went to her house but received no response this time. This led them to Pawan’s shop, where they discovered her dead body inside the warehouse in a sack. They called the police right away.
When the police arrived, they removed the body for an autopsy. The key suspect in the case was Pawan, who had gone AWOL, and the police were able to find him and take him into custody.
