According to ARY News, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asked the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for a copy of the “cypher drama” statement made by Imran Khan’s aide Azam Khan. Salman Akram Raja, the PTI leader’s lawyer, requested a copy of Azam Khan’s “cypher drama” statement in the petition on Monday because Imran Khan will respond to the inquiry officer in this case regarding the cypher. Noteworthy was the sudden reappearance of Imran Khan’s assistant Azam Khan, who had been missing since last month, and her recording of a confessional statement before a magistrate.

In the confessional statement, Khan revealed that the then-prime minister (Imran Khan), in 2022, used a diplomatic cypher sent by Pakistan’s envoy to Washington to concoct a narrative against the establishment and the Opposition, Geo News reported.
Earlier, Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) Counter Terrorism Wing summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister in a cypher case.
Reacting to Azam Khan’s statement, the PTI chairman and former prime minister said that he will not comment on the matter until the complete information comes out. He said that it’s not known yet in what circumstances Azam Khan made these statements, according to ARY News.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, however, claimed that Imran Khan should be punished for engaging in anti-state “cypher drama” and that the confessional statement of former principal secretary Azam Khan was a “charge sheet” against him. “The chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, defamed state institutions through a cypher conspiracy. According to Sanaullah, who was quoted by Geo News, “He should be punished for staging the drama.” He added that the cypher conspiracy demonstrated that the events of May 9 were a continuation of the same scheme.
