IMD Forecasts Rain Advances Over Mumbai & Various Parts Of Maharashtra

IMD Forecasts Rain Advances Over Mumbai & Various Parts Of Maharashtra

India Meteorological Department announced the advancement of Rain into various parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai and Pune on Sunday.

In addition, Rain has advanced over Mumbai two days prior to its normal arrival date of June 11.

Further, the weather agency has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by extremely heavy rain over south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal and North Interior Karnataka on June 9 and 10.

The northern monsoon limit is traversing through Thane, Ahmednagar, Beed, Nizamabad, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram, and Islampur.

According to Skymet Weather’s vice president Mahesh Palawat, the monsoon is active over Arabian sea and is providing good rains to coastal Maharashtra and Karnataka.

However, the rain is not so active in Bay of Bengal, but it will pick up the pace from June 13-14, covering West Bengal, east Jharkhand and Bihar.

Overall, Palawat opined, ‘For now, monsoon is progressing normally.’

But from June 9 to 11, IMD has predicted extreme heavy rain for south Konkan & Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka.

Also, IMD has issued red warning for these places, which means, authorities must take action to avoid emergencies caused by sudden floods or intense rainfall.

As for Northwest India, A new wave of heat wave conditions is expected to start from Monday. Which is anticipated to continue over parts of eastern India and Uttar Pradesh for the following five days.
