The builders are continuing their construction work without any fear. The Municipal Council stops the construction work once or twice on the basis of complaints. As soon as Saturday and Sunday come, the builder puts the lintel of his building and completes it and the preparations for the next lintel start and the next lintel is also put on Saturday and Sunday. That is why Saturday and Sunday are considered days of blessing for illegal builders and this time there are three days of blessing because on Monday also, due to government holiday, the officials will rest and the illegal builders will do their work.Illegal constructions are going on everywhere in Zirakpur city and are also being completed but no action is being taken against anyone by the Municipal Council. If we talk about Lohgarh area alone, then many illegal construction works are going on here too. From Patiala Road to Sigma City Chowk, many such hotels have opened whose map of showroom or shop has been approved but they have been converted into hotels or are being converted into hotels. As soon as you reach Sigma City Chowk, a big building is being constructed, whose three floors are complete and the foundation of the fourth floor is also going to be laid, which will be laid in these three days of blessing, but here also no one will come to stop because in these three days the officers will just rest and such illegal builders will do their work in the days of blessing. From which it can be easily guessed that everything is going on here with connivance.
On talking about this, Sarabjeet Singh, Building Inspector of Municipal Council Zirakpur, said that yesterday this construction work was stopped by sending a team and today again the work has been stopped and a notice has also been issued. After this, a letter has also been written to the electricity department in which it has been asked not to give electricity connection to this builder.
Despite the Nagar Council team stopping the work for two consecutive days on Thursday and Friday and issuing a notice to the builder on Friday, the construction work is still going on here and the builder is fearlessly carrying out his construction work openly in the square and taking advantage of these three days of boon. Here a big question arises that how is the construction work going on here despite the action taken by the Nagar Council? Is there any officer’s connivance in this? Is the builder not stopping his work because he has access to some politician? Are the Nagar Council officers not determined to implement the building bylaws? Only time will tell what action is taken against those who do illegal construction. At present, the illegal builders are carrying out their work without any fear despite the notice being issued.
