IAS Officer Raghvendra Kumar Singh Appointed Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Raghvendra Kumar Singh, belonging to the 1997 batch, has been appointed as the principal secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh. The official order issued on Friday evening also confers on Singh an additional charge as the principal secretary of the state government and the Public Service Management Department.

This reshuffling comes merely two days after the induction of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, marking the conclusion of the extensive tenure of his predecessor, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Chief Minister Yadav took his oath of office on Wednesday, with Governor Mangubhai C. Patel officiating the ceremony at Motilal Nehru Stadium, Lal Parade Ground in the state capital. The swearing-in event saw the presence of several eminent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Raghvendra Kumar Singh will succeed Manish Rastogi, an IAS officer from the 1994 batch, who previously held the role and has now been appointed as the principal secretary to the state government. This administrative realignment aims to bring a fresh perspective to the leadership and governance of Madhya Pradesh under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

In his first cabinet meeting after assuming office, Chief Minister Yadav addressed the media, announcing stringent measures such as curbing the unregulated use of loudspeakers at religious and public places. Additionally, the new government has imposed a ban on the open sale of meat, fish, and poultry products, reflecting a focus on maintaining public order and welfare in the state.
