The widow of Hunter Biden’s late brother described the terrifying moment she found a revolver in his truck during Thursday’s federal gun trial. She went on to detail how she first hid it in a leather pouch, then covered it up with a shopping bag, and finally threw it in a trash can close to their house. She testified, alluding to the rifle and ammunition she discovered in the car’s console back in October 2018, saying, “I panicked, and I wanted to get rid of them.” “I didn’t want him to hurt himself, and I didn’t want my kids to find it and hurt themselves.”

The main point of dispute in the case against Hunter Biden is his acquisition of the Colt revolver and Hallie Biden’s hasty disposal of it. The president’s son was indicted on three counts of felonies, including deceiving a federally licensed gun dealer, lying on the application to claim he was not a drug user, and unlawfully possessing the gun for 11 days. Federal prosecutors claim that the president’s son was suffering from a severe crack addiction at the time of the gun purchase.

Hunter Biden, who continues to insist in his innocence, has said he is being unfairly investigated and that the Justice Department gave due to political pressure from Republicans.

In the meantime, President Joe Biden ruled out the prospect of pardoning his son and stated in an interview with ABC that he accepted the jury’s verdict. In addition, the first lady made her way back to the trial on Friday after spending time in France attending D-Day commemoration activities alongside the president, followed by a state event.

Hallie Biden, who had a brief romantic involvement with Hunter following the death of Beau Biden in 2015, provided testimony suggesting she didn’t witness any drug use by Hunter during his stay in Delaware after his 2018 trip to California. However, her testimony revolved around the events of October 23, 2018 — the day she disposed of the gun. While Hunter was lodging with her, she discovered drug remnants and paraphernalia in his car, along with the firearm in a defective box. Despite contemplating concealing the weapon, she opted to discard it due to concerns about her children’s safety.

Prosecution efforts have focused on highlighting Hunter Biden’s substance abuse issues and using instances of questionable judgment to argue that he was under the influence when he falsely denied drug use on the gun purchase application. This strategy includes showcasing evidence of his drug addiction and past behavior to demonstrate his mental state during the gun acquisition.
