Hooda unveils bold agenda for Haryana revival

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda outlined ambitious plans for Haryana under Congress leadership during a worker’s meeting following Varun Mullana’s Lok Sabha victory in Ambala. Hooda highlighted key promises including healthcare reforms, pension schemes, affordable essentials, and employment opportunities aimed at transforming the state’s landscape.

Hooda assured that once Congress forms the government, a comprehensive health scheme providing free treatment up to Rs. 25 lakh will be implemented, mirroring successful initiatives in Rajasthan. This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens on families during medical emergencies.

In a bid to tackle inflation, the Congress pledged to provide essential commodities at subsidised rates, including LPG cylinders priced at Rs. 500 and 300 units of free electricity. Additionally, the party plans to reintroduce the old pension scheme for employees and ensure merit-based recruitment for 2 lakh vacant government positions, promising transparency and fairness in the process.

Addressing the crowd alongside state Congress president Chaudhary Udaibhan and other senior leaders, Hooda emphasised the party’s commitment to social justice and economic empowerment. He criticised the current BJP government for alleged failures in governance, citing issues ranging from unemployment to stalled development projects initiated during Congress rule.

Highlighting specific initiatives for the underprivileged, Hooda promised 100 square yard residential plots for poor, SC, and OBC families, and the revival of the Dadupur-Nalvi project to benefit local farmers. He urged party workers to stay engaged with the electorate and understand their concerns closely in preparation for the upcoming assembly elections.

Hooda’s speech resonated with Udaibhan’s sentiments, who rallied support for the Congress by highlighting grievances against the BJP government, including corruption scandals and economic mismanagement. Udaibhan urged voters to hold the ruling party accountable for its alleged shortcomings and expressed confidence in Congress’ ability to restore Haryana’s prosperity.

Varun Mullana, thanking the electorate for their support, echoed the call for change and pledged to champion local issues in the Lok Sabha with the same vigour he displayed as MLA for Mulana. He underscored the electorate’s desire for a return to the developmental policies enacted during Hooda’s tenure.

As the election season approaches, the Congress leaders called for unity among workers to ensure a decisive victory, signalling a determined effort to unseat the BJP and reclaim governance in Haryana.
