Recently, Tom Holland explained why he prefers not to walk the red carpet with Zendaya, his girlfriend, unless they are both in the same film. “I think the premiere moments should be about her accomplishments, not about us as a couple,” the actor told Men’s Health. Tom said that if they go to a premiere together, then the focus will be on their relationship, which he does not want to draw attention away from the success of Zendaya’s work. He also clarified that he enjoys supporting her but believes it is important to keep the spotlight where it belongs—on the movie and its cast.
Their Spider-Man franchise, however, is an exception. Tom revealed that for the Spider-Man films, where they both play significant roles, he is comfortable walking the red carpet with Zendaya, as it feels more fitting given their involvement in the project. The couple’s bond on set is a big part of why they continue to collaborate, and the upcoming Spider-Man film in 2025 will give them more time together in front of the camera.
He, on the other hand, also revealed how things were with his girlfriend Zendaya and other aspects of his future, mainly planning to take a step away from acting after he becomes a father. According to him, he will be leaving Hollywood after having a child as there is more for him in his family, and probably love for golf than all that in Hollywood. He claimed candidly, he would cease acting when children were born and said, “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.”
Tom also discussed how working with Zendaya has made his life easier and provided some insight into their professional relationship. He recalled instances on set where they would exchange understanding looks, knowing they could talk about it later, when presented with a director’s note they didn’t quite agree with. They click because of their chemistry, which carries over from the screen to real life and also helps them to succeed as a team on-screen.
