JMM leader Hemant Soren is set to form government at Jharkhand, as state governor C P Radhakrishnan invited soren for government formation.
This development comes around the time, when senior leader Champai Soren gave his resignation as Chief Minister.
As per congress state president Rajesh Thakur, Hemant Soren Will take oath as Jharkhand CM today. Reports PTI.
According to ANI’s report, he’ll be sworn in as CM at 5 pm. Meanwhile, JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya revealed, that a swearing-in ceremony will be conducted on July 7.
Talking to ANI, he said, ‘The Governor has invited us to form the government and take the oath. We have decided that the CM along with this cabinet will take oath on July 7.’
But Champai Soren gave his resignation from the post. Thus, clearing the path for Hemant Soren to reassume the role.
Meanwhile, JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) executive president Hemant Soren was detained by ED (Enforcement Directorate) on the grounds of alleged land scam and money laundering.
Before his arrest, soren tendered his resignation as Chief Minister. After his detention, Soren family close aide Champai Soren became chief minister and stayed in his post for 5 months.
Later, on June 28, the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail on the forgery case, which fake proceeds were generated to acquire lands in Ranchi.
While granting bail, the single-bench judge said, ‘The overall conspectus of the case based on broad possibilities does not specifically or indirectly assign the petitioner to be involved in the acquisition and possession as well as concealment of 8.86 acres of land at Shantinagar, Bargain, Ranchi connected to the “proceeds of crime.’
