Dr. Ajay Shukla from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital gave an update on Saturday, on the health of BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput. Both MPs are under observation after being injured in Parliament.
Pratap Sarangi’s Condition
Dr. Shukla explained that Sarangi is being closely monitored for swelling and bruising on his cheekbone. The doctors will perform an X-ray to check if there is a fracture or if the injury resulted from blood pooling.
“We noticed swelling and bluish discolouration on Sarangi’s cheekbone. We will do an X-ray to see if it’s a minor fracture or if blood has collected from the injury above the eyebrow,” said Dr. Shukla.
Mukesh Rajput’s Condition
Regarding Rajput, Dr. Shukla said that he is still feeling dizzy and uncomfortable. Both MPs have been moved to private rooms for further monitoring.
“Mukesh Rajput is still experiencing dizziness and discomfort. We have shifted both MPs to private rooms, and we continue to monitor them,” Dr. Shukla added.
Sarangi’s Allegations
Sarangi claimed he was injured when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP, who then fell on him. Sarangi said he was standing near the stairs when the incident occurred, leading to his head injury. He was taken to the hospital immediately.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Reacts
On December 21, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy visited both MPs at the hospital. After the visit, Reddy strongly condemned the incident and called for Rahul Gandhi to apologize.
“I spoke to the doctors, and both MPs are under observation. Pratap Sarangi is weak but continues to work for the people. It is wrong to attack him. This kind of violence, especially by the leader of the opposition, has never happened before. Rahul Gandhi should apologize to the nation,” Reddy said.
