The Palestinian group Hamas has agreed to un security council mandated ceasefire resolution and also agreed to negotiate the details, announcing Hamas’s senior official Abu Zuhri to Reuters on Tuesday.

This resolution includes details over withdrawal of Israeli forces and releasing hostages in exchange for prisoners arrested by Israel.

Furthermore, Hamas has also declared, that it is now USA’s responsibility to make Israel obey the resolution.

‘The U.S. administration is facing a real test to carry out its commitments in compelling the occupation to immediately end the war in an implementation of the UN Security Council resolution’ said Abu Zuhri.

Meanwhile, US secretary Antony blinken has declared, that Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ‘reaffirmed his commitment’ for Gaza’s ceasefire during their Jerusalem meeting. ‘I met with Prime Minister Netanyahu last night and he reaffirmed his commitment to the proposal.’

Talking about un-mandated ceasefire resolution, blinken has called this development a ‘hopeful sign.’

Meanwhile just last week, Israel protested against the resolution citing issues with some of the amendments, reported Time of Israel.

Later, USA dealt with Israeli concerns, which involved the dropping the clause of clear rejection for Israeli security zones in Gaza. Thus, satisfying Israel. As a result, the country’s representative refrained itself from criticizing the resolution nor commenting over it.
