Several parts of north India, including the national capital, were inundated by torrential rains on Saturday and Sunday early. The downpour caused extensive road flooding and caused serious traffic delays for commuters.
Similarly, certain areas in Kerala experienced severe rain throughout the morning hours, causing traffic jams and waterlogging in low-lying areas. The widespread rainfall has been attributed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to the interplay of a Western Disturbance and monsoonal winds.
Meanwhile, the CM of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu came forward and appealed before citizens to not to venture towards rivers. He also asked them to be vigilant.
