Singers Guru Randhawa and Jonita Gandhi are collaborating with American electronic duo The Chainsmokers on a new single titled Addicted, set to drop on August 30. The track also features Brazilian DJ Zerb and German producer Ink.

This song blends an Indian touch with Western music, combining Punjabi verses with English lyrics and a dynamic dance beat. The collaboration brings a unique fusion to the electronic music scene.

In a statement, The Chainsmokers—known for hits like Closer and Don’t Let Me Down—expressed their excitement about the collaboration. “Our music has always been about connection, and we have so many incredible fans in India that we love. Partnering with Jonita and Guru allows us to connect authentically with them by infusing their culture and style into our song,” they said. They also noted that while such collaborations can be hit or miss, they felt strongly about how Randhawa and Gandhi maintained the song’s integrity while enhancing it with their talents.

Guru Randhawa shared his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “Music bridges cultures and boundaries. I’m excited to add a fresh Indian flavor to this global hit by The Chainsmokers and Zerb. It’s thrilling to reimagine a song that already has such a strong resonance and give it a new life for the Indian audience.”

Jonita Gandhi echoed this sentiment, expressing her thrill at contributing her vocals to the infectious track alongside Randhawa. “It’s an honor to be part of a song with The Chainsmokers, Zerb, and Ink, and I hope our version connects with listeners worldwide.”

The original version of Addicted has already garnered over 140 million streams.
