A video recently shared on social media by journalist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj has ignited widespread outrage after showing a driver recklessly speeding at 140 km/h on a busy road, hitting a biker, and then nonchalantly dismissing the incident. The video was posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), and the driver has been identified as Rajat Dalal, described by Bhardwaj as a “habitual offender.”
The video, recorded by a passenger seated in the back, captures the unsettling moment when Dalal hits a biker while speeding on what many social media users have identified as Mathura Road in Faridabad. Despite the pleas from his passengers urging him to slow down, Dalal continues to drive dangerously. After hitting the biker, he dismisses the incident by saying, “Gir gaya, koi baat nahi. Roz ka yahi kaam hai ma’am” (He fell down, no big deal. This is an everyday thing, ma’am), while assuring a clearly distressed woman beside him, “Aap befikar raho” (Don’t worry).

The video has sparked intense reactions from the public, with many users on X demanding severe punishment for Dalal. One user commented, “Anything less than a lifetime license ban will not be sufficient punishment for his crime!” Another questioned why the police had not yet arrested him, while a third expressed frustration over the apparent lack of action despite Dalal’s repeated offenses caught on camera.
Faridabad police have responded to the post, asking Bhardwaj to share her contact details via Direct Message for further investigation. However, the public continues to press for immediate and strict action against Dalal, emphasizing that his reckless behavior poses a significant threat to society.
The video has also sparked discussions about the need for stronger traffic law enforcement in India. Several users called for the permanent cancellation of Dalal’s driving license and suggested that he should face jail time for his actions. One user stated, “No person is above the law! The family of the victim might take the law into their own hands if the police don’t do anything.”
As the video continues to gain traction online, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by reckless drivers and the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to protect public safety.
