Henry Kissinger, the controversial winner of the Nobel Prize, held positions as US president twice and made a lasting impression on US foreign policy.

Henry Kissinger, a former US secretary of state who helped to shape the nation’s Cold War history, passed away on Thursday at the age of 100.

Kissinger, a contentious Nobel Prize winner, held positions under two US presidents and made a lasting impression on US foreign policy.

According to Kissinger Associates Inc., Kissinger passed away on Wednesday. He passed away in Connecticut at his house.

Kissinger was attending White House meetings and writing a book about leadership styles even after he turned 100. In addition, he gave testimony on North Korea’s nuclear threat before a Senate committee.

Kissinger surprised everyone by traveling to Beijing in July of this year to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

While serving as secretary of state under Republican President Richard Nixon in the 1970s, Kissinger worked on a number of international initiatives.
