Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta visited the Chandimata temple on Thursday, bowing his head and seeking the blessings of Chandi Mata through prayers. Following this, Gupta gathered detailed information from the police and Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board Secretary Prithviraj regarding the theft that occurred in the temple around 1 am the previous night. Subsequently, Gupta visited the temple and closely examined the theft incident through CCTV footage.

The Haryana Assembly Speaker directed Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumer Pratap Singh to identify the culprits, take strict action against them, and increase daily patrolling and monitoring in the temple. Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board Secretary Prithviraj reported that approximately Rs 5 lakh in cash, along with Mata’s gold umbrella, Mangalsutra, necklace, and the gold eye worn on the Mata’s statue, were recovered from the four gallas at Chor Mandir. However, 16 tola gold jewelry, a silver bowl, pot, glass, crown, lid, and approximately two and a half kilos of silver jewelry were reported stolen.

The Haryana Assembly Speaker further instructed the CEO of Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board to enhance the security of the three temples to prevent such theft incidents from happening again. He emphasized that theft in the temple of Mahamayi is a grave sin, and those responsible will not be spared under any circumstances. The Deputy Commissioner of Police assured the Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly that three crime teams and a total of four teams, based on CCTV footage, will be formed to apprehend the culprits involved in the theft incident soon.

Present on the occasion were Municipal Magistrate Rajesh Punia, Municipal Corporation MC Narendra Lubana, Mata Mansa Devi Temple Secretary Sharda Prajapati, ACP Aryan Chaudhary, Chandi Mandir SSO Lalit Sharma, and other dignitaries.
