Uddhav Thackeray, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), was admitted to Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Monday after feeling unwell.

Thackeray has a medical history that includes angioplasty, and he is currently undergoing tests to check for blockages in his heart arteries, with an angiography likely to follow. Sources from his party indicated that he is expected to be discharged today.

Reports suggest that Thackeray began feeling uneasy following his speech at the Dussehra rally in Mumbai on October 12, where he criticized the ruling Mahayuti government and the central authorities.

In 2016, he was released from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after undergoing an angiography. This procedure was part of his follow-up treatment after an angioplasty performed on July 20, 2012, during which doctors placed eight stents to alleviate constrictions caused by multiple blockages in three major heart arteries.

Thackeray had a second angioplasty in November 2012 to address blockages in the left anterior descending artery (LAD), which was reported to be nearly 60% blocked.
