An intense encounter erupted between militants and security forces in the Akar Forests of Patnitop, Doda district, today. This marks the fourth encounter to begin in Jammu and Kashmir in the past five days.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army reported on X, “Following specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) was initiated in Akar Forest near Patnitop. Contact with the terrorists has been established, and operations are currently underway.”
Currently, three other anti-terror operations are in progress in the Anantnag, Basantgarh area of Udhampur, and Paddar forest area of Kishtwar. Details regarding casualties or the status of these operations are still awaited.
