Tech Billionaire Elon Musk fathered a third child with an executive at Neuralink, his brain-chip implant company, according to a report published by Bloomberg. Shivon Zilis, who currently serves as Neuralink’s Director, had the child earlier this year. Notably, the birth came after Musk revealed in 2022 that he and Zilis had twins, which were reportedly conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Musk is the world’s second-richest man with a net worth of around $200 billion. Alongside his role at Neuralink, he also leads companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter. The 52-year-old has fathered 12 children, six of them in the past five years. His offspring include three with Zilis and another three with Canadian pop star Grimes, according to Bloomberg.
Interestingly, Musk earlier joked that he’s “doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis,” a problem he views as “the biggest danger civilization faces.” He’s long promoted the debunked theory that the world population is declining, Bloomberg noted. On Thursday, he shared a chart on X, claiming that Europe is suffering from a “fertility crisis.”
The UN projects that, despite global growth rates dropping, the world population will continue to boom, reaching 10 billion by the end of the century, according to the outlet.
The report came as Musk has been accused by numerous female subordinates of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior at his space exploration company, SpaceX.
