A disturbing video that has gone viral on social media shows 85-year-old Kripal Singh being attacked by a bull while walking on a busy road in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows Mr. Singh being lifted several feet into the air before crashing down to the ground.
The elderly man was out for his evening stroll when the bull unexpectedly charged at him. The attack resulted in severe injuries to his head and abdomen, with the bull’s horns causing his intestines to spill out. Local shopkeepers quickly transported Mr. Singh to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Mr. Singh, a resident of Ganganagar’s B-Block in Meerut, was known for his regular walks to the Rajendrapuram market, where his son’s electronics shop is situated. His walks were a daily routine, both in the morning and evening.
The rising issue of stray and feral animals in Uttar Pradesh has become a significant concern. Over the past year, the state’s livestock minister, Dharmpal Singh, has pledged to address the problem by capturing stray cattle and relocating them to shelters.
