The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in its chargesheet has revealed details of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik’s relationship with Dawood Ibrahim’s D-company. His wife and son are also accused of arbitrariness in the chargesheet.
When Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government and a big leader of NCP, was arrested by the ED, at the time it was said that the ED had taken a wrong action, but now there are revelations in the ED’s chargesheet that would surprise many. Nawab Malik is directly related to Dawood’s D-gang; much evidence has been given to the court on this. The investigating agency said that much evidence has been found against the NCP leader, in which the statement of Ali Shah Parkar, nephew of Dawood Ibrahim, accused of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, is also included.
Malik is in jail due to his direct links with D-gang, as per the ED. There has been no end to Malik’s troubles. The Enforcement Directorate has told the court that it
has strong evidence of Malik’s links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s gang.
The probe agency said it has gathered much evidence against the NCP leader, including the statement of Ali Shah Parkar, the nephew of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Dawood Ibrahim. And it is Parkar who has exposed Nawab Malik in front of ED. Parkar has disclosed before the probe agency that Haseena Parkar, Dawood’s deceased sister, had sold part of the Goawala complex in Kurla to Nawab Malik in 1996. In his statement, Parkar has given several details about the sale and purchase of the land, which are very important and have proved to be helpful in building the case against Malik.
Ali Shah Parkar, nephew of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, told ED that sometimes on the occasion of Eid, Diwali and other festivals, “my maternal uncle Dawood Ibrahim’s wife keeps in touch with my wife Ayesha and my sisters”. ED officers are interrogating Ali Shah. Nawab Malik has been arrested by the ED in a money laundering case. He was arrested on 23 February in a land deal case. It is alleged that he is related to a money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. The ED has recorded the statement of Dawood’s nephew Ali Shah Parkar, under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Ali Shah said in his statement that Haseena Parkar used to have financial transactions with Dawood. He took the name of Salim Patel who was his mother’s aide. Patel was an onion trader and was involved with his mother in buying and selling properties.
Nawab Malik’s wife and sons are also accused of arbitrariness in the chargesheet. The ED said in the chargesheet that both sons and wife of Nawab Malik were called for questioning, but none of them appeared. Nawab Malik’s wife was summoned twice, his son Faraz Malik was summoned five times in the money laundering case. In the coming days, along with Nawab Malik, his family can also be made part of major ED proceedings.
