Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey in Parliament today, July 22, 2024, ahead of her seventh consecutive Union Budget presentation scheduled for tomorrow.
According to the Economic Survey, the Indian economy must create an average of nearly 78.5 lakh jobs per year in the non-farm sector until 2030 to accommodate the growing workforce.
Prepared by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and supervised by the chief economic adviser, the Economic Survey is divided into two sections. The first part addresses the country’s economic developments and challenges, providing a comprehensive review of the economy. The second part focuses on the financial year that has just concluded.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget on July 23, marking the inaugural full budget of the Modi 3.0 government’s tenure.
