Donald Trump-Elon Musk Interview: Trump Breaks Promise That He Made After the Assassination-Attempt

Donald Trump’s first public speech following the assassination attempt in July was at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he recounted the incident and promised he would discuss it only once. However, in his interview with Elon Musk, Trump broke that promise and provided a detailed account of the shooting in a lengthy conversation.

During the conversation, Trump described the incident as a “miracle,” saying, “If I hadn’t turned my head, I would not be talking to you right now, as much as I like you,” highlighting the gravity of the situation and his belief in the fortuitous nature of his survival.

Donald Trump has also announced plans to return to Butler, Pennsylvania, the town where an assassin targeted his outdoor rally last month.

“We’re going back to Butler, and we’re gonna go back in October. We’re all set up, and … the people are fantastic in Butler,” Trump said, expressing his commitment to visiting the town again despite the recent violence.

Donald Trump’s highly anticipated interview with Elon Musk on X was marred by major technical issues even before it began. The disruption forced Musk to limit the interview to a smaller audience, leaving many users unable to tune in.

This interview was seen as a crucial moment for Trump, especially as Vice President Kamala Harris has closed the gap in opinion polls and energized Democratic voters with recent rallies. The Trump campaign had billed the interview as the “interview of the century.”
