Under the “Rajgarh bachao, Zilla Banao Vikas Samiti” campaign, a banner and memorandum with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s signature, was presented to SDM Omprakash Meena. People from all sections of society gathered at Pandit Bhavani Sahay Chowk in the town and held a rally. From there, they reached the sub-district office via Chopad, Gol Circle, and Sarai Bazaar while chanting slogans. The demand for making Rajgarh a district was echoed loudly during this rally.
Outside the tehsil premises, a signature campaign was carried out by the committee and the local public. People from both urban and rural areas actively participated in this campaign. The memorandum has demanded to reinstating of Rajgarh, an ancient subdivision in the Alwar district during the princely state era, as a separate district in democratic Rajasthan. The demand to make Rajgarh a district has been ongoing for quite some time, starting from 2011, through various organizations. Several times, the government and administration have been made aware of this demand through memorandums.
