According to authorities, a young individual has passed away due to injuries sustained from an alleged shooting incident in the National Capital while riding a motorcycle. The victim, who suffered severe injuries, was hurried to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Nitin Singh, aged 27 and the sibling of the deceased, lodged a formal complaint with the police, resulting in the initiation of a case at the New Usmanpur police station.
“The deceased was riding a motorcycle at the time of the incident,” stated the police.
The accused individual has been charged under IPC Section 302 alongside relevant sections of the Arms Act.
The purported murder occurred during the night of March 26-27, near Hanuman Mandir Wali Gali service road, New Usmanpur.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay, aged 32, a resident of New Usmanpur, who operated a restaurant.
Law enforcement officials reported discovering seven empty shells, four lead pieces, and one live 7.65 mm round at the scene.
At approximately 00:05 am, Nitin received notification from a friend regarding his brother, Sanjay, being shot.
“He found his brother bleeding at the spot. The victim had sustained injury in his head, right shoulder, right elbow, and right-side abdomen area. He was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” according to police statements.
Sanjay, the deceased, had previously been implicated in a murder case registered at the New Usmanpur Police Station, involving the killing of an individual named Ravinder, a resident of 1st Pusta Usmanpur, Delhi, along with associates Pradeep, Bijender, and Bhanwar Singh.
“All aspects are being explored. Efforts are being made to identify the culprits. CCTVs in the area are being scanned,” stated the police.
The investigation is ongoing.
