Delhi: Overall AQI remains in the “Very Poor” range, and India Gate is obscured by thick fog

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reports that on Tuesday, the general quality of the air in the nation’s capital remained in the “very poor” range. The AQI in the RK Puram area was recorded at 356 in the’very poor’ range at 8 am, while Anand Vihar recorded 365, according to data shared by the CPCB. Furthermore, at 335 on Tuesday morning, the CPCB reports that the AQI at ITO was also recorded in the “Very Poor” range. Images of the famous India Gate on Tuesday showed it covered in a thick layer of fog, severely reducing visibility.

Meanwhile, the AQI in the Ashok Vihar area was also recorded in the ‘very poor’ range at 298 at 8 am on Tuesday, down marginally from 365 the day before.
The air quality in Narela also slipped from ‘poor’ at 300 on Monday, 8 am, to the ‘very poor’ range, at 339, on Tuesday.
Earlier, on Monday, the overall air quality index in the national capital was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category, the CPCB informed.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reports that at 8 a.m. on Monday, the AQI in the RK Puram-Munirka area was 346, which falls into the “very poor” category, due to the heavy fog that covered the city on Sunday. According to CPCB data, the air quality in Anand Vihar was recorded at 310 at 8 am, whereas ITO recorded 328 at the same time. In a forecast released earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that there was no chance of showers until December 11. It called for clear skies and light to moderate fog throughout the city in the morning.
