A sigh of relief for the residents of Delhi and it’s surrounding areas as The Indian Meterologicial Department (IMD) forcasts  there will be light to moderate rain on Thursday.

Weather Department forecasts partly cloudy skies over the national capital on Saturday and Sunday. It is predicted that further the weather will provide a much needed break from the ongoing heatwave in the city. Since March, the temperature in Delhi has gone above 50 degree Celsius which is close to desert state Rajasthan.

Delhi has recorded highest temperature of 52.9 degree Celsius in Delhi’s Mungeshpur area. Also, people of Delhi have been suffering intense heatwave and a severe water crisis. Today’s maximum temperature was noted at 40 degree Celsius while minimum temperature was 28.4 degree Celsius.

Reports suggest, the prolonged heatwave affecting vast areas of the country has led to excess deaths, with 143 deaths reported and 41,789 people experiencing suspected heatstroke between March 1 and June 20 this year.
