Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, accompanied by several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Minister Gopal Rai, inspected roads in the national capital on Monday as part of the government’s road assessment and repair initiative. Atishi assessed roads in the Okhla area, following the CM’s recent announcement assigning ministers responsibility for overseeing road conditions in different parts of Delhi.

Atishi is tasked with managing South and South East Delhi, while Saurabh Bharadwaj handles East Delhi, Gopal Rai supervises North East Delhi, Imran Hussain oversees Central and New Delhi, Kailash Gehlot is responsible for South West and Outer Delhi, and Mukesh Shehrawat is in charge of North West Delhi.

Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who joined Atishi for several inspections, has called for a report on all PWD roads and urged immediate repairs. He sent a letter to Atishi requesting swift action on damaged roads and emphasized that all 1,400 km of PWD roads would be inspected.

After inspecting Okhla, CM Atishi said, “Arvind Kejriwal and I have inspected several roads and found their condition to be poor. Kejriwal has urged all party MLAs and ministers to focus on restoring Delhi’s roads as quickly as possible. We aim to provide pothole-free roads by Diwali.”

Manish Sisodia and Saurabh Bharadwaj inspected roads in the Patparganj area, with Sisodia stating, “On Kejriwal’s instructions, we inspected several roads in poor condition. We will ensure their renovation and tackle the problems caused by the BJP’s neglect.”

Similarly, Gopal Rai inspected roads in Babarpur and emphasized the urgency of repairs, noting that road conditions worsened after Kejriwal’s imprisonment. The former CM assured residents that all halted works would resume, and ministers and MLAs would complete road inspections and repairs in the coming months.
