After a fight, a 42-year-old man allegedly used a knife to assault his wife and kid, killing the couple and injuring the son in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area.
According to Priyanka Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), the deceased have been identified as Neeraj, his wife Jyoti and their 13-year-old son suffered injuries.
A control room call about a fight and stabbing between a husband and wife in the Guru Angad Nagar neighbourhood was made at 9:15 pm, according to the police.
When the police arrived, they found Neeraj, 42, and his wife, Jyoti, 40, suffering from severe stab wounds. One of the couple’s two sons also had a hand injury from a sharp object.
The infant is receiving treatment, while Neeraj and Jyoti died from their wounds after being taken to the hospital, according to Kashyap.
The police said that the husband and wife did not share a cordial relationship and often quarrelled.
A similar quarrel occurred on Tuesday night, during which Neeraj hurt his wife and one of his sons before getting hurt himself. Both children fled to the first floor and informed their neighbours, who subsequently called the police.
The DCP stated that a case has been filed under the proper provisions and that further investigation is ongoing.
