Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a gathering in Rewari, Haryana, on Friday, praised the BJP government’s achievements and highlighted the implementation of significant initiatives like the purchase of 24 crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the fulfillment of the One Rank-One Pension (OROP) scheme. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment since his 2014 election campaign, emphasizing the BJP’s efforts in fulfilling promises made to the people of Haryana.
Amit Shah emphasized the long-standing demand for One Rank-One Pension, stating that Congress had failed to implement it for 40 years. “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi started his election campaign in 2014 from Haryana and promised to fulfill the demand of One Rank-One Pension being raised by our army personnel for the last 40 years. For 40 years, Congress could not implement One Rank-One Pension, you gave Modi ji an opportunity to serve, and Modi ji implemented One Rank-One Pension,” he said, adding that the third version of OROP was implemented just a month ago.
Shah criticized the previous Congress government in Haryana, accusing it of being marred by corruption and favoritism, stating, “The rule of dealers, dalals (brokers), and damads (sons-in-law) prevailed. Neither dealers nor brokers are left in the BJP government; there is no question of son-in-law.” He emphasized that the BJP had eradicated corruption and favoritism that he claimed had been rampant under Congress.
Addressing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah accused him of misleading farmers about the MSP. He questioned Gandhi’s knowledge of MSP and agriculture, saying, “Rahul Baba, do you know the full form of MSP? Do you know which are the Kharif and Rabi crops?” Shah challenged Congress to name any government that had bought 24 crops at MSP, as the BJP government in Haryana currently does.
Amit Shah also addressed Rahul Gandhi’s comments made abroad regarding reservations for ST-SC-OBC communities. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi suggested ending reservations during his overseas visits, saying, “Rahul Baba goes abroad and says that we will end the reservation of ST-SC-OBC communities.” Shah assured that as long as the BJP is in power, there would be no threat to reservations, asserting, “As long as there is even one BJP MP in the Parliament, you cannot end the reservation.”
