DCP Announces Security Guidelines For Assembly Elections

In a meeting led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik, with all supervisory officers, station in-charges, police post and crime branch in-charges, has issued guidelines to ensure the peaceful conduct of the upcoming assembly elections on Friday.

During the meeting, DCP directed all officers and station in-charges to remain vigilant as the Model Code of Conduct is in force across the state for the assembly elections.
He emphasized the need for strict adherence to avoid any violations. The DCP provided detailed instructions to all officers regarding their responsibilities to ensure the elections are conducted peacefully and warned that any minor negligence in this regard would result in strict action against the concerned police officers and personnel.

Kaushik also informed that a special team has been constituted in the district. In addition, all station in-charges have been instructed to closely monitor individuals with previous criminal records and to arrest proclaimed offenders who are avoiding arrest after being declared wanted in various cases.

To ensure strict monitoring during the elections, 8 interstate border checkpoints have been established, where close police surveillance will be maintained. Additionally, 12 static surveillance teams have been formed, which will record video footage of all activities related to the elections.

To maintain better law and order, the DCP issued strict instructions to all station in-charges to increase patrolling in their respective areas and to monitor any antisocial activities at public places. The station in-charges were also directed to inspect polling stations in their respective areas to prevent any untoward activities during the elections.
The meeting was organized under the directions of Police Commissioner Shibas Kaviraj and was attended by ACP Surendra Kumar, ACP Arvind Kumar, ACP Ashish Kumar, ACP Manpreet Singh Sudan (IPS), ACP Shukrpal, Election Cell In-charge Rajkumar, Inspector Security, and all station and crime branch in-charges.
