The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System’s (RRTS) priority phase is set to officially launch on October 20 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the flag-off ceremony, regular rapid rail services on the 17-kilometer route will begin on October 21. Before the urban train begins service, the NCRTC has made the rates for the several routes public. The pricing for Standard and Premium Class services will vary based on the passenger’s selection.
Over the 17-kilometer stretch, the priority part of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS will pass through five stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai. The notification states that, depending on the route, Standard Class rates on this length range from Rs 20 to Rs 50. For travel between the end stations, Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, there is a maximum fare of Rs 50.
Currently under development, the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System will connect Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. It is an 82.15 km rapid train route. This is India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System. It is one of the three rapid rail lines that the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is managing as part of the RapidX project’s Phase I. The route between Delhi and Meerut may be travelled in less than 60 minutes at a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph). At a cost of approx. ₹30,274 crores, the project is being carried out. It would feature two depots in Duhai and Modipuram in addition to 22 stations.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, has praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision for the opening of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS priority section.

The notification states that children under 90 centimetres in height would be admitted free of charge on Rapidx trains. To assist travellers, the rapid rail system will have multiple ticketing modes including Digital QR code-based Tickets. Adding to it, NCRTC will also allow the use of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) Card. Other modes include Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs), and Paper QR code-based journey tickets.guidelines issued by NCRTC passengers will be permitted to take luggage weighing up to 25 kg, while the dimensions should be 80 cm x 50 cm x 30 cm.
