Congress slams PM for highlighting decline in Hindus’ population in J’khand

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the JMM-Congress coalition in Jharkhand saying that the population of Hindus and tribals are on decline and accused the JMM-led coalition government of engaging in dangerous “vote bank politics” by supporting infiltrators at the expense of the state’s identity, culture, and heritage, the Congress slammed him saying that by making such serious accusations he himself highlighted the failures of his own government at the Centre.
Speaking to the ITV Network here, Jharkhand Congress incharge Ghulam Ahmed Mir hit back at the Prime Minister and the BJP and said, “This is the responsibility of the Prime Minister, Deernce Minister and Home Minister. The Prime Minister is highlighting his own failures as the borders of the country are not maintained bythe state government but by the Defence Minister, Home Minister, the Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister.”
Slamming the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, Mir said, “If the Prime Minister got any case then they must share the details of the action taken. Otherwise the people of Jharkhand very well understand the strategy of polarising voters ahead of the elections.” The Prime Minister visited Jharkhand on October 2 and slammed the JMM and Congress government in the state and said that the time is ripe for ‘Parivartan’ in Jharkhand to safeguard ‘beti, mati, roti’ and combat corruption.
“The JMM-led coalition is playing a dangerous game, jeopardising the identity, culture, and traditions of the people while patronising infiltrators,” he said in Hazaribagh. Thisbwas Modi’s second visit to Jharkhand in about two weeks, as elections for the 81-member assembly is scheduled later this year. The current Vidhan Sabha’s tenure is set to expire on January 5.
On Modi announcing several projects worth Rs 83,000 crore in the poll bound mineral rich state of eastern India, the Congress leader said, “The Prime Minister, whichever state he is visiting is making the announcement of Rs 80,000 crore. Whereever he announced projects worth Rs 80,000, a team should be formed know the reality that those funds have been allocated or not.”
Taking a pot shot at the Prime Minister he said that these are just rhetoric ahead of the polls. “We already have given thr details of the pending amount worth Rs 1.37 lakh crore with the central government.

The man who is unable to provide the pending amount of a state despite reminders then from where will he provide additional Rs 80,000 crore,” he asked.
He further said that the central government in last five years did not provide fund for the PMAY scheme and the state government has to carry the scheme on its own. “And these new promises just ahead of polls are not going to work and I feel that the JMM and Congress alliance will go more strong in the state,” the Congress leader said. The Prime Minister unveiled projects worth Rs 83,000 crore in Jharkhand which emphasised on development of tribals in the state.
