The newly elected Congress MLAs will meet on May 14 at 5.30 p.m. According to sources within the party, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has called a conference to consider the next steps in forming the administration.

The leaders are also anticipated to ask freshly elected MLAs their opinions on the chief ministerial nominee, which is a crucial decision the party must make, during the meeting. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge added that south India has now become “BJP mukt,” now.

At a joint press conference conducted at the party office, senior officials including Mr. Kharge, Siddaramaiah, D.K. Shivakumar, Randeep Singh Surjewala, and others welcomed the victory.

They also offered their congratulations to the winners and referred to it as a triumph for the party’s overall leadership. If they had not been united, according to Mr. Kharge, they would have been in the same situation as in 2018. Mr. Siddaramaiah hailed the State’s citizens for electing the party to power and declared it a win for democracy, Kannadigas, and Karnataka. “Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, united the people of Karnataka and spread the idea of peace & harmony – an important factor that put our party in the path of victory,” Mr. Siddaramaiah tweeted in response to the party’s triumph. Workers from the party’s office in Congress lit firecrackers and celebrated.
