Congress’ Appeasement Politics Threatens India’s Unity: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami criticized the Congress for its “appeasement” politics, calling it a threat to India’s unity. Speaking at a public rally in Patiala in support of BJP candidate Preneet Kaur, Dhami said, “Congress’ appeasement politics is dangerous to the unity of India. They have stooped so low that they’re saying they will impose tax on your wealth.”

He further alleged that Congress leaders claim they would seize 50% of people’s wealth after their death, leaving only the remaining half for their children. Dhami accused the Congress of using such politics to gain power and engage in corruption, as he claimed they did before 2014.

Dhami highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to honor Sikh heritage, mentioning the retrieval of holy copies of the Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan, the construction of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas, and the promotion of Guru Govind Singh Ji’s Sahibzadas’ history.

“The Prime Minister has done much for the preservation, protection, and expansion of Sikh heritage,” Dhami said. He noted Modi’s efforts in bringing the history of Sikh sacrifices to the forefront and the development of the Hemkund Sahib Yatra with a new ropeway.

Dhami expressed confidence that the people of Punjab want Modi to serve a third term as Prime Minister and urged them to support BJP candidate Preneet Kaur for the development of the Patiala Lok Sabha constituency. He emphasized that every vote for the BJP would strengthen the country and support India’s development.

He praised India’s transformation into a manufacturing hub under Modi, attracting global companies and becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy. Dhami also cited successful events like the G20 summit and welfare schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Yojana as major accomplishments. Additionally, he mentioned the implementation of the CAA, the abrogation of Article 370, the ban on triple talaq, and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Dhami accused opposition parties, including AAP and Congress, of relying on specific vote banks and engaging in appeasement tactics. He criticized Congress for redistributing reservations in Karnataka and accused them of attempting to alter the Constitution for their benefit. He contrasted this with the BJP’s advocacy for a Uniform Civil Code.

Under Modi’s leadership, Dhami highlighted ongoing development projects in Punjab worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, including green field highways, expressways, and AIIMS. He urged the public to vote for Preneet Kaur in large numbers to ensure Modi’s third term as Prime Minister.

Punjab faces a four-cornered electoral contest, with voting for its 13 seats scheduled in a single phase on June 1. The final phase includes constituencies such as Gurudaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur, and Patiala.
