‘Cloud Native Award’ at 24th World Communication Awards in London won by Jio Platforms

At the 24th World Communication Awards (WCA) ceremony, hosted by Total Telecom, a global telecom media firm, Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) took home the Cloud Native Award.

Senior executives from all around the world gathered to see the award ceremony as the world resumes its activities after a two-year break brought on by the COVID pandemic.

Jio Platforms Ltd won the prize in the Cloud Native category, but Ericsson and TPG were also recognised as “highly commended” in the same area. Other nominations included “B2B Service of the Year,” “Best Digital Transformation Programme,” “Best Network Transformation Initiative,” “Best Wholesale Operator,” and “Best Operator in an Emerging Market.”
Since its start, Jio has invested more than USD 50 billion to build India’s largest and most technologically advanced digital and communication ecosystem, complete with a variety of popular apps and platforms.
Connectivity and cloud services, media, digital commerce, financial services, gaming, education, healthcare, agriculture, government to citizen (G2C), smart cities, and manufacturing are all included in Jio’s services.The winners from this year, as well as representatives from those who had to virtually take their awards in former years due to the pandemic, were present. Celebrity broadcaster Nina Hossain hosted the recent awards ceremony.

Jio claims to have developed strong internal capabilities in the following key digital technologies: edge computing, speech/natural language, supercomputing, computer vision, robotics, and drones. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Big Data, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain. The development of redesigned solutions for varied ecosystems will be fueled by these capabilities.

The Fiber to the Room (FTTR) Solution from Huawei won the Access Innovation Award, according to Total Telecom. The KT AI Call Centre received the B2B Service of the Year award. Orange International Carriers’ digital transformation initiative received the prize for Best Digital Transformation Program.

Nokia and NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome received the Cyber Security Award. The APAC Multi-Domestic Connectivity Solution for Automotives, Singtel, Ericsson, and Bridge Alliance received the IoT Innovation Awards.
