Ahead of the by elections in Rajasthan the BJP is engaged in making strategies and preparing a roadmap to conquer all the seven seats in Rajasthan. Hindutva has emerged as a crucial agenda for gaining an advantage, and the BJP can further amplify this by promoting the slogan “If you are divided, you will be cut,” introduced by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This slogan has been embraced by key leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a rally in Maharashtra, Modi emphasized unity while referencing this slogan. Just a month ago, in Agra, Yogi highlighted the example of Bangladesh, urging people to remain united to avoid division. He reiterated this message during the Haryana elections, where his speeches focused on the same theme. The party secured victories in all constituencies where Yogi campaigned, boosting the party’s morale significantly.
The by-elections to be held next month in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand are linked to the prestige of the Chief Ministers of these states. The Election Commission on Tuesday announced by-elections for the vacant seats across the country along with the elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Elections will be held in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on November 13, while the only seat in Uttarakhand will be on November 20. It is a big challenge for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to win 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 7 in front of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and only one Kedarnath seat in front of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
In fact, the party suffered a big loss in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The party lost 40 Lok Sabha seats in both the states. Due to these seats, BJP was far behind the majority. These included 29 seats of Uttar Pradesh and 11 seats of Rajasthan. In Uttarakhand, the party was successful in winning all the five Lok Sabha seats, but lost two by-elections held later. In this, an important seat like Badrinath also slipped out of the hands of BJP. This defeat gave the opponents a chance to speak against Chief Minister Dhami. Now if Dhami wins the Kedarnath seat, he will get strength.
After the defeat in the Lok Sabha, there was a big factionalism within the BJP in Uttar Pradesh politics. The leaders also raised questions against each other. After winning more seats than expected, the opposition remains attacking the BJP. However, BJP and the Sangh together handled the situation in Uttar Pradesh. Expressed full confidence in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After this, Yogi started aggressively handling the situation and giving a tough challenge to the opposition. Full preparations have been made for the election by making a strategy in their own way on the 10 vacant seats.
Let us tell you that the Election Commission announced elections on the remaining 9 seats except the Milkipur seat of Ayodhya. The case of Milkipur is pending in the High Court, so it was not touched. The remaining 9 seats are Karhal, Sisamau, Phulpur, Kathari, Majhwa, Ghaziabad Sadar, Khair Meerapur and Kundarvi. Out of these, 5 seats were with Samajwadi Party, 3 with BJP and one each with Rashtriya Lok Dal and Nishad Party. This seat has become important for Chief Minister Yogi because after the Lok Sabha defeat, the opponents had raised big questions. Yogi has been trying to sharpen the issue of Hindutva for some time now. The opposition is worried about making it mandatory to write the name of the owners on the shops and then promoting the slogan ‘To divide you will be cut off’. Yogi’s slogan of ‘To divide you will be cut off’ has been promoted by the party leaders. In Haryana, Yogi campaigned on this slogan and the party got success in all the seats. The victory in Haryana has given new life to the BJP. The benefits of which will be seen in the elections of Jharkhand and Maharashtra. It will also have an impact on the by-elections. Yogi will try his best to give a big blow to the opposition by winning all the 9 seats. In a way, the five seats of Samajwadi Party belong to the close aides of Chief Akhilesh Yadav. If BJP makes a dent, Yogi will become more powerful.
