On Tuesday, the stock markets opened on a positive note, driven by financial and public sector companies, as investors anticipate policy announcements in the Budget. The NSE Nifty 50 increased by 0.24% to 24,568.9, while the S&P BSE Sensex rose by 0.28% to 80,724.3, as of 9:15 a.m. IST.

The pre-Budget Economic Survey, presented by Sitharaman in Lok Sabha on Monday, projected a cautious growth rate of 6.5 to 7 percent for the current fiscal year.
