At the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, Brazil was declared the host country for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking the first time a South American nation will host the tournament. This decision followed the most extensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and was determined through an open vote at the FIFA Congress for the first time. Brazil secured 119 votes, surpassing the joint bid of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, which received 78 votes.
