“We have been waiting for SRK, Rajkumar Hirani’s film”: Fans share excitement on ‘Dunki’ release

It’s party time for SRK fans after his much awaited comedy drama Dunki is finally in theaters today. A huge crowd gathers at Gaiety Galaxy, Mumbai, the iconic single screen theater house to watch the film and the first show at 5.55 am.

SRK’s movie release is nothing short of a celebration. Sharing the excitement, One of SRK’s fans said that they have been preparing for this day for months. They also displayed their enthusiasm by saying, “We will be there at 2-3 am. We are all very excited about the film.”

Another fan said, “It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s movie. Who wouldn’t come to see his film? After waking up early in the morning, people may not come to watch other star movies but Shah Rukh Khan’s film, for sure.” he added, “The sky is the limit for Dunk and excitement. We have been waiting for SRK and Rajkumar Hirani’s film for so long and it is finally here.”

Videos shared by Shah Rukh Khan fan clubs show a huge crowd dancing to the beat of dhol and burning fireworks to release Dunki. The fans gave the movie and Shah Rukh Khan a grand welcome as they danced upon the dhol beats and carried placards and banners.Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.

SRK and Rajkumar Hirani promoted their film in grand fashion in Dubai on Tuesday. Videos of the actor from that evening emerged on social media and in fan clubs, where he was seen creating his signature pose with outstretched arms in the air at a drone show in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. Dunki is written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani and Kanika Dhillon.

It is a touching story of four friends Manu, Sukh, Buggu and Ball who dream of settling in London for a better life but have to undertake a difficult but life-changing journey to achieve their goal.

At an event in Dubai, SRK described Dunki as his best film. he said, “While making Jawan, I thought of making a film for boys and girls, but I didn’t do anything for me, then I made Dunki. So this is my movie. This movie is very close to my heart. When I did Pathaan, a lot of people who write about films, who probably know more about films than the filmmakers, said what kind of roles I do, so I really felt that I should do films that come from my heart and that includes all movies made this year.” He furthur said, “I started the year with Pathaan, which has always been women first and I want to end the year with a film for myself. So please watch Dunki on December 21st. Everyone will find something in the film that touches their heart. The film also makes you laugh.”

The film is SRK’s first collaboration with Hirani and Taapsee.
