From Struggle to Success: Shruti Haasan Thanks Pawan Kalyan for Career Breakthrough

Actor Shruti Haasan, who has worked in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films, recently spoke about her tough beginnings. In a new interview with Filmfare, she revealed how some people labeled her “unlucky” because her first two films did not do well at the box office.

Shruti Faced Early Challenges

At the start of her career, Shruti faced harsh judgments. She explained, “They had this whole myth in Telugu that I am unlucky, because my first two films didn’t work. But they didn’t realise that the first two films had the same hero. And they were like ‘We don’t want her’.”

In 2011, Shruti starred opposite Siddharth in two movies — Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Oh My Friend. However, both films failed to succeed at the box office.

Then Came Pawan Kalyan’s Support

Fortunately, actor Pawan Kalyan believed in Shruti’s potential. Shruti shared, “Then Pawan Kalyan sir was like ‘no, we get her.’ And my whole career trajectory changed. Suddenly, Bombay started looking, and Tamil started looking. Do you know what I mean? It’s just the people and how they believe in you. It translates even creatively when they believe you can carry something off. And they are collaborative and communicative. It makes a difference.”

Soon after, Shruti worked with Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh, the Telugu remake of Dabangg. The film turned out to be a major box office hit and gave Shruti the success she needed.

What’s Next for Shruti?

Now, Shruti is gearing up for her next big project. She will star in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Moreover, the film features Rajinikanth in the lead role and is scheduled to release on August 14.
