Actor Rakhi Vijan recently opened up about her divorce from Rajeev Tandon, brother of Bollywood star Raveena Tandon. Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, Rakhi stressed that her personal issues with Rajeev had nothing to do with his family. She also shared how Raveena always treated her warmly, “like a sister.”
Rakhi on maintaining a bond with Raveena
Rakhi explained that she deliberately stayed away from media attention because journalists often dragged Raveena’s name into stories about her past. She said, “I have tried to avoid the press because they always bring up my past and say something about the family. Raveena and I were like sisters. Let me make it clear. We were really good to each other. Raveena and I had a lot of fun. She treated me like a sister, and I did the same. We would fight, make up, go to parties, enjoy and be loving towards each other.”
Despite her marriage with Rajeev ending, Rakhi made it clear there was no bitterness towards his family. She added that her separation was solely between the two of them and had no connection to Raveena or her parents. “The person I got married to is also good. We tried, and we separated only because our relationship didn’t work out. But that has got nothing to do with Raveena Tandon, her mother, her father. It was between a couple. So there is no controversy,” Rakhi stated firmly.
Rakhi Vijan’s career journey
Rakhi Vijan became a household name in the 1990s when she played the lively Sweety in the hit TV show Hum Paanch. She first appeared in Dekh Bhai Dekh and later starred in popular shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, and Naagin 4. She also participated in the second season of Bigg Boss, although she was evicted within 12 days.
In addition to her TV work, Rakhi appeared in films like Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Golmaal Returns, and Krrish 3.
Meanwhile, Raveena Tandon continues to shine in her acting career. In 2024, she starred in Patna Shuklla and Ghudchadi and appeared in the web series Karmma Calling. She is also set to feature in the much-anticipated movie Housefull 5.
