Is Shraddha Kapoor Ready To Marry? Actress Hints At Plans During Stree 2 Trailer Launch

As anticipation builds for the release of Stree 2, producer Dinesh Vijan provided exciting updates on Thursday, revealing that the highly awaited sequel is already written and will hit theaters sooner than expected. The original Stree, released in 2018, was a major success, blending horror and comedy in a way that captivated both audiences and critics. Its success led to the expansion of Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, which includes films like Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya.

At the trailer launch for Stree 2, Vijan outlined his ambitious plans for the franchise. Munjya, which recently released and was a box office hit despite its relatively new cast, is part of this universe. According to Vijan, Stree 2 will serve as a central piece in this expanding film universe.

“Stree 2 is like the mothership of our horror-comedy universe. It will address many questions left by the first film and reveal what comes next. Following Stree 2, we’ll be introducing a new film called Thama, which we’ll announce in due course. We’ve already written Stree 3, so fans won’t have to wait long for the next installment,” Vijan shared with reporters in Mumbai.

The sequel will see the return of the primary cast from the first film, including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. They will face a new supernatural threat—a headless ghost known as Sarkata. Additionally, Stree 2 will explore further the mysteries surrounding Shraddha Kapoor’s character.

Describing the film, Vijan promised that Stree 2 would be the most “paisa vasool” film from Maddock Films to date. He described it as “bigger, madder, and crazier,” with a trailer that reveals only a fraction of the film’s visual effects. “It’s going to be a cinematic experience where we expect to see popcorn flying in the theaters,” he added.

During the trailer launch, Shraddha Kapoor, dressed in a striking red saree, skillfully deflected questions about her personal life by referencing her character from the film. “Woh Stree hai, use jab dulhan banna hai woh banegi” (She is Stree, she will get married whenever she wants),” she quipped.

Stree 2 is set to premiere on August 15, promising to build on the success of its predecessor and expand the beloved horror-comedy franchise.
