India Couture Week Day 2 Recap: A Showcase Of Glamour And Elegance By Leading Designers

Day 2 of India Couture Week dazzled with star-studded appearances as Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Jacqueline Fernandez, Malika Arora, Aditya Roy Kapur captivated the audience as showstoppers. The event, held at the Taj Palace in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, continued the high-energy atmosphere set by Wamiqa Gabbi and Taha Shah Badussha’s remarkable debut on Day 1.

Designers Suneet Varma, Kunal Rawal, Isha Jajodia of Roseroom presented their latest collections, drawing inspiration from both historical grandeur and modern elegance.

Isha Jajodia’s ‘Art of Eternity’ Collection

Isha Jajodia’s new collection, ‘Art of Eternity,’ was described as “a mosaic meticulously crafted with dreams and echoes of a bygone era.” Inspired by French architectural landmarks, the designs featured intricate lace patterns and luxurious fabrics, capturing the opulence of Versailles. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Jacqueline Fernandez served as the stunning muses for this collection.

Kunal Rawal’s ‘Sehra’ Collection

Kunal Rawal’s ‘Sehra’ collection at India Couture Week masterfully intertwines tradition and modernity, drawing inspiration from the ornate headgear traditionally worn by Indian grooms. The collection showcases a rich palette of luxurious fabrics, including sumptuous silks, opulent brocades, intricate bandhani, and artful dhup chao threadwork. Each garment is meticulously crafted, featuring innovative interpretations of French knots and bold micro motifs. This fusion of classic and contemporary elements not only celebrates the heritage of traditional Indian attire but also introduces a modern twist, highlighting Rawal’s unique approach to couture.

Siddhartha Tytler’s Caligula’s Feast

The spotlight will be on the couture collection titled “Caligula’s Feast.” This collection is a celebration of extravagance, indulgence, and opulence, designed to captivate with its sensual allure and regal elegance. By embodying the grandeur of its namesake, Caligula’s Feast aims to transport the audience into a world of luxurious excess and refined sophistication, making it a highlight of the fashion event.

Suneet Varma’s ‘Nazm’ Collection

Suneet Varma unveiled his collection, ‘Nazm,’ which blends India’s rich decorative art heritage with a contemporary twist. The collection showcased exquisite hand-embroidered appliqué work in opulent gold and ivory hues, inspired by traditional techniques and classic Bollywood allure.

 Varma described ‘Nazm’ as a tribute to India’s artistic legacy and classic Bollywood romance, designed for the modern Indian woman who embodies confidence, sensuality, and individuality. He hopes each piece becomes a cherished heirloom, reflecting her unique story and dreams across generations.
